Spitfire: Return to Flight *In Stock*

This book is based around Brendan Deere's restoration of Spitfire IX PV270 which made its public debut at the Omaka Classic Fighters air show at Easter 2009.

There are several parts to the book, all of them interesting and comprehensive. There's information onlearning to fly during WW2 and on flying the Tiger Moth and Harvard, a history of the Spitfire generally and of PV270 specifically, taking the reader through its career with the RAF and Italian, Israeli and Burmese air forces.

Supporting the words are 372 colour and 121 black & white illiustrations, especially commissioned artwork, technical drawings and diagrams. It seems that every nook and cranny of the aircraft while it was in pieces is illustrated and every technical detail is explained in a manner that even the layman can understand.
