Part 3 Mks (II,VI,X,Type 464, B1 Special) 1942-1945

the Defiant was rarely photographed . It was only this year, when discussing potential subjects with our regular author Andy Thomas, did we realise that we finally had enough photos between us to do the Defiant squadrons justice.

The Beaufort and her crews fought bravely across the globe from Northern Norway to the South Pacific.

This Part Four therefore covers Coastal Command, 100 Group and other uses of the FB VI as well as the TseTse Mk.XVIII which was of course an FB Mk.VI with a big gun slung underneath! Approx 120 photos and 6 colour profiles

The Fairey Battle was sleek, solid and quite capable for its day, and was a step up in technology from the biplanes that it replaced.

When you consider that the Swordfish entered service way back in 1936 and was still flying operationally at the end of WW2, with the same engine (!), you start to realise what a significant aircraft the Swordfish was.
