This volume takes a look at the numerous lines in South, West and Mid Wales including some examples of colliery lines. Over 100 carefully selected colour images bring to life what was once a thriving network of lines many of which owned their origins to the now vanished coal industry. As such author Jeffery Grayer has considered locations including Cardiff, Newport, Pontypool, Merthyr Tydfil, as well as further west at Swansea, Whitland, Cardigan – to name but some. Most of the images have never been seen before and paint a vivid picture of just what had once existed as well as what remains may still be traced today.
